Fitzroy Crossing Pool
The North West Community of Fitzroy Crossing will soon awake to the splashing of children in its brand new aquatic facility. The pool has been built in the recreation precinct adjacent the oval, community sports hall and the school. Located on Fallon Road it will be a wonderful adjunct to the other recreation facilities in the area and provide health and fitness benefits to the community for many years to come.
Most of the children in the region learn to swim by necessity in the Fitzroy River as they seek relief from the intense heat of one of the hottest regions in Australia. Now along with the rest of the community the kids will enjoy a swim in there new state of the art pool right in the middle of town.
The facility was financed by the State Government and developed and built by a consortium that included the Department of Housing, Pindan Construction, Donavan Payne Architects, AVP Commercial Pools and Perkins Brothers. The pool will be operated for the Department of Housing by the Royal Life Saving Society WA (Inc) in line with the five other facilities in the more remote areas of Western Australia.
More on this new facility and its benefits to community soon.
