On the 5th January 2011, The West Australian reported that the demand for swimming teachers is growing as parents are enrolling their children in swimming lessons throughout the year, not just during the summer holidays.

Royal Life Saving WA has 90 endorsed swim schools and finding enough swimming teachers can be a challenge due to the growing number of year round lessons.  Royal Life Saving WA conducts the AUSTSWIM - Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety course on a regular basis at many different venues over the Perth metropolitan area.  This course provides each participant with a great understanding of all components of becoming a confident and knowledgeable swimming teacher. http://www.lifesavingwa.com.au/training/course/?id=3
